OK if i plug a cable wich has video plug on both sithes on the back of a desktop into the back of a laptop would it show what the desktop.

no what i want to do is use the notebook screen as a screen for the desktop

You can't do that... Well, I guess you COULD get a capture card and use TV Out if you have it to go into the laptop that way, but the quality would be horrible.
