Ok here's the deal. I am in the market for a new processer. I have 2 computers. 1 has an Athlon XP 2600 and the other has a Celeron D 2.93 GHZ and the Celeron completely blows away the athlon xp system. I don't play to many games, but do alot of mp3, movie encoding/decoding, and some cpu intensive tasks, and I like to do 4 things at once. I have found a couple on newegg around the price I am willing to spend and would like you opinions one which one to choose.
1: Celeron D 351 Prescott 3.2GHz 64bit $63
2: Pentium D 805 Smithfield 2.66GHz 64bit $93
3: Pentium 4 541 Prescott 3.2GHz 64bit with Hyperthreading 800MHZ $90
The first 2 have a 533 mhz FSB and the P4 has an 800 and are all SKT 775. I was an AMD man, but it looks like Intel is winning the race now. I am looking to spend under $100 for a new processor. What do you all think?
