online spreadsheets

I am a degree student and for one of my modules I have to create an online virtual learning environment with a complex function.

The complex function I have chosen is to upload a spreadsheet into the webpage so the user can use the spreadsheet online like you normally would when opening an excel file, is there any way to get round this so i can use excel online??

i'm not sure, but you can upload excel sheets to 'google docs' for further editing online, to be saved, and re-downloaded again if needed...
you need a valid gmail address for this.
