Open folders in the same window

Not sure if this is the right forum, but I have a small question. This isn't even that serious, but it bugs the crap out of me. BTW, I'm running Windows XP (Service Pack 2)

I accidentally messed up doing something about a year ago, and set it so that when I'm navigating through folders, each time I open a new one a new window pops up. How would I make it so that I can navigate just in one window?

Ok, so here's what I did that messed it up. In Tools >> Folder Options, I went to File Types tab at the top. For the "Folder" file type, I clicked on the Advanced button and changed the action for it to something else (not sure what it was before, but now I can't get it back to what it was before. the new action now is "explore" I think). Oh and there is a check box below that that says "Browse in same window" but it's unchecked and I can't check it.

Does anyone know how to fix this to make it go back to the way it was? I'm getting tired of always having to open new windows whenever I want to browse through my folders.

Yes, I actually have that option activated. It says that it should open in the same window, but it doesn't. That's not what's causing the problem though. Any other suggestions?

Hmm go into folder options and then into the view tab.

Do you have the box that says "launch folder windows in a seperate process" ticked?

That's all I can see
