Opening Folder not working

Recently, after windows automaticly updated my comp and restarted it, i havent been able to access my music folder.

instead of letting me go into it it says that this drive is not formated and would you like to format C drive

i was wondering what is wrong because i really dont want to get ALL my music and stuff back again.

Are you overclocking? Rest back to default if you are. The best course of action now is to take that drive out and put it as a slave in another system, the extract your beloved data and then format the drive, you might also consider looking at the SMART charts to see if its dying or not.
 
Yes i have XP

and i dont know if the drive would be dying tho

its farely new

not even a year old

so im not sure if thats the problem

i have a double OS on this system tho

cuz on my second drive i have XP Prof. so maybe i should try booting with that and seeing if i can access the folder from there and maybe backup the files i need.
