I really don't understand. I just paid $47 for OpenOffice Suite @ http://www-openoffice.com/join.html then I found this which is a free download of the product http://www.openoffice.org/index.html anyone understand what is going on?

The suite will include other extras. Do some reading. Support is not cheap.

I think you got jipped. Notice that's OpenOffice.com. Icons don't match up or anything.

OpenOffice is opensource, it was made to be FREE. If it's the same OpenOffice, I doubt they made the product themselves. It's a compilation of many different programmers work. Is what that OpenOffice.com website doing even legal??

The openoffice.com claims they will give you your money back, that's worth a shot.

under some open source license agreements it is completely legal to take an open source package, and sell it and make money off of it. Which is probably what that company is doing. More than likely you are paying for support.
