Opera issue

When I try to install Opera this message pops up:

Eventually, after closing the dialogue box then I am able to install Opera.

After a restart and turn on my PC again, and try to use Opera, this message now pops up:



Does anybody know what's going on here and can help with a solution?

Sometimes this is caused by having malware on your system. Have you ran virus/malware scans using Malwarebytes or other programs?

I couldn't find any malware on there. Maybe I have accidentally deleted some files whilst using ccleaner to clean the registry??

What did you run to scan for malware?

I used Kaspersky Internet Security and like you suggested Malewarebytes. I decided to do a clean install in the end.

CCleaner is usually pretty good. This is a *.dll error (a file containing binary instructions that the software uses for something). A clean install is probably best

When using CCleaner, back your registry up!

Yes, I agree with you ccleaner is very good but not always for the faint hearted. CCleaner always gives the option to back up. I did try to restore the registry but I can't remember now exactly what happen but I just gave up too easily and reload windows from fresh. Desktop icon were disapperaing along side broken like. So you think I delete a .dll file/s or something?

I doubt it. As I said before, this is most likely from a malware infection. There are other programs to use to check for malware besides Malwarebytes and your antivirus program.

Never run the registry cleaner part of Ccleaner, just use the standard file cleaner.

Off topic, but what do you recommend for registry cleanup?

Nothing. The performance gain from cleaning the registry is minimal and not even noticeable and plus you do take a risk of deleting something that shouldn't be deleted.

He has already done a reformat of his system so his issue is solved.
