operating system?

I would have to say Windows XP (Professional to be specific). Because it's the most compatible with games, and it outperforms the Mac OS in terms of FPS.

thank you very much but i have one more question which one is better. windows XP Professional x64 eddition or windows xp Professional?

If you have a 64-bit processor, then you'll need the x64 version. SOME processors support both 32 bit and 64 bit OSes (like my Dual Core) and you normally should just need the 32 bit. More programs run on it and it tends to work better.

Um...no... First off XP x64 is very buggy and incompatable from what I've heard. I've never used it, but even if it works, basically every game is written for 32bit. Plus not every duel core processor is 64bit. Also, 64bit OS's don't always mean better performace. Honestly, I thought the 32bit version of Vista ran better on my previous Athlon than the 64bit. However, I didn't do extensive testing...

As for the question, I'd say plain XP Pro. I doubt there's really any software out there that requires 64bit. Typically there are versions for either type of processor. Also, XP Pro is more supported, not only by regular software, but I'm sure there are more updates/fixes for it(IE less security issues)
