So I'm building a new rig for gaming (mainly MMORPG's) and I'm on a tight budget. This is my first time riggin since I built my Pentium D system 5 or 6 years ago. And I'm a bit outdated about the new stuff :P. Just want to make sure no issues go between these two:

Motherboard:
Gigabyte H67M-D2

Processor:
Intel Core i5 2500k

I also found a higher version of the mobo http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128491&Tpk=GA%20H67MA-USB3. Do you guys think the usb 3.0 support for this one is worth the additional 10 bucks? I'm not really wild about the additional optical output and surely I don't need any memory higher than 16GB.

I'm still torn between the intel core i5 2500 and 2500k. I've never done overclocking, but I've always wanted to try. Is it worth going for the "k"? And how high can you crank this up anyway?

Also I'm planning on trying out crossfire in the future and I'm not sure how the PCIe 2.0 16x/4x speeds would handle it.

It's my first time posting. Sorry if I violated any rules. Been reading several threads here. Great forum. Good people.:good:

the K series is amazing. No doubt worth the extra money. I've had mine up to 4.6ghz, and that's with a pretty rubbish case and heatsink. Also, if you have a USB 3.0 drive, it's a lot LOT faster than 2.0.

big features that board i believe is supporting is 3+ TB drive support, SRT tech and the ability to OC both the CPU and onboard GPU
