Opinions on 3tb-4tb external drives?

are 3tb and 4tb external drives as reliable as 2tb?

when they first came out i saw nothing but mixed and bad reviews on 3tb and up

i just need something as reliable..right now i have several 2tb western digital elements

so would like opinions on 3tb-4tb drives
 
I don't see why they'd be any less reliable than a 2TB drive.

Make sure you back up your data to more than one place though.
 
my opinion is that is a lot of data to throw away if an issue arises.
I would rather have 6 500GB drives than a single 3TB drive just because of the ability to split risk.
