Opinions on Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro

Yup, I have one :)

It's very good, but be warned, it's HUAGE! I have pictures of it in the signature, check them out :)

Damn, that is HUGE. What kind of temps are you seeing on your processor?

I got one question for you though. What are you using Custom gauge .16 strings for? lol.

Yeah, it is big!

I get 31c idle, but it's a little higher at the moment, I'm waiting for the AC5 to settle in... I get 50c on load too.

lol, I use Ernie Ball Super Slinkys, and that was just one of the many things I've stuck to my desk :P You play?

Yeah I play guitar, ukulele, and bouzouki. I have an old Hofner Classical from the 70s which was my first guitar. I also have a Epiphone Biscuit Resonator. Then I have a 2005 Epiphone Les Paul Standard and an Agile with P-90s. I play them through an Epiphone Triggerman. All of these are left handed too. lol. :D What have you got?

Oh nice, You're left handed and you don't have a white strat? EVIL! :P
I have a Yamaha Pacifica, Yamaha Acoustic and an LP Copy :D

Kornowski... you have that front intake fan up in the 5.25" drive bay slots... can you buy something like that aftermarket or is that something that your case either comes with or doesn't because i'd like to put one in mine if i can buy it after the fact.

It's something I did myself, they were just normal drive bay covers, I cut a hole in them and mounted a fan there... If you didn't want to cut a hole, you could buy something like this:

Thats like what I'm looking for... couldn't find them on newegg or anything do they have them at a site that isn't from canada (but then again I'll be up there in the fall so it doesn't really matter) or that aren't 25 bucks cuz i feel like they shouldn't be much more than just a fan. Any reviews or anything and do you think it will help?

thanks

So then is Scythe the only one of these around or is it just the best one to get? I guess I just overlooked it at newegg. And would you leave that stock 120mm fan in or put a different... cuz then its just seems like buying a fan and making a mounting system would be better if the fan is a pos.

It's the only one I know of, there may be more, just search around. I would take the fan out and buy a nice 120mm LED fan, that's what I'd do ;)

One of those reviews says that the case rattles with a more powerful fan so then I wonder about either doing like what you did (how hard was it?) or figuring out some other way to mount it. I just know I want another fan pushing air into my machine. I've asked a couple times and only got one response about the corsair memory cooling fans http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835704001 and someone said it wouldn't do much because I already have heatspreaders and aren't ocing but you don't think it would bring down the mobo temp at all pushing air in and taking it off the memory which has still got to be hot.

I don't know, I can't imagine it rattling that much if you tighten everything up...
It wasn't that hard, just took some planning and such... I started a thread about it in the case section a while back.

Do you have a picture of your case?

Is it to cool the RAM down, is that why you want a fan? If you are worried about the RAM getting too hot, either get a fan on the front or a cooler like the one you linked to.

I don't have a pic of my machine on this computer yet but this is the case http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2337809&CatId=1849 I have a dvd burner in the lowerest 5.25" bay. I want to make sure my memory stays cool (but will that even be an issue if I don't oc it?) and try to drop my mobo temp a little just by pushing more cool air thru the case. I'll check that other thread but let me know if you think putting that mount in the middle two bays with another one of the 120mm thermaltake fans (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811999122) or something like it will help. does it stick out at all or will it be flush up with the rest of the front?

Ah right!
No, your RAM won't over-heat if you don't OC it, so there isn't anything to worry about there!

Yeah, it'll cool your MOBO down, but the Sythe Bat Cooler uses 3 slots, not 2.

It will be flush with your case... it won't stick out :)

hmmm i don't know if I want to use up my three slots and not allow myself to have another optical drive... so looks like I might break out the jig saw and drill and buy an 80mm fan...

I got my AC Freezer 7 Pro today. It was only $35 on Newegg. Awesome so far. I've seen a 15* C drop in temps! Unreal. It is HUGE though.

Yeah, I know, I gotta do some cable management. I have been waiting until I got all my new stuff to do it, and thats what I'm doing tonight.
