I'm using a free defragmenter program from Piriform called Defraggler. I run a quick defrag once a day & a full defrag once a week. I think it's a good program, but I'd like other opinions
Thanks
Thanks
I mean, is it a mechanical drive or an SSD? How large is the drive and how old is it roughly? It's the C drive that the program defrags
Win 7 and up don't defrag SSD by default. Now I use SSDs so you don't do that and in fact you want to turn off auto defrag if you have a SSD.
Eh, it probably influenced it to some degree. My computer was slow because it was under-powered, not because the hard drive was fragmented.
Defragging always makes a noticeable difference in my PC
Windows automatically installs updates on my PC several times per month and my antivirus (Webroot SecureAnywhere) & Google Chrome both update in the cloud. That sounds like potentially a lot of changes to meUnless you are doing something weird on your system, then you shouldn't be defragging more than a couple times a year at most. Usually only installing and uninstalling programs quite frequently will cause your drive to be fragmented.
Not enough to require a defrag.Windows automatically installs updates on my PC several times per month and my antivirus (Webroot SecureAnywhere) & Google Chrome both update in the cloud. That sounds like potentially a lot of changes to me
