Opinions on Motherboards

Looking for opinions on motherboard and CPU combination buys.

My current motherboard is running, but I get the feeling that after the one year warranty is over (June 2008) that it may go on me. I have to run my PC-3200 memory at 160 megahertz otherwise I get crashes. (It's not the Random Access Memory having issues as I have tested two different types of memory and get the same results.)

I would prefer the board be able to use a processor that is equal to or faster than my current AMD Athlon 4000+ processor. I don't mind if the board uses an Intel processor. Price limit is $150.

I use my system for a little bit of gaming, but it is the older Ghost Recon 1 games I play mainly. My computer is mostly used for browsing the internet and studying.

Here is what I have looked at so far:

Biostar P4M890-M7 SE Motherboard CPU Bundle - Intel Pentium D 925 Processor 3.0GHz Original Equipment Manufacturer $125

The DDR2 RAM are so cheap right now. I think it will be better to get new RAM as well.
Not worth to get something with DDR RAM

Thanks for the suggestions. Double Data Rate 2 memory is so much cheaper than DDR memory so I may think about getting that. But this is my second Foxconn motherboard as my first one fried in 45 days. This is definately my last Foxconn motherboard as I am not impressed with the quality.

Choosen Foxconn because it is cheap.
Get this Gigabyte one then

The 939 one don't have much choice. may be Biostar

By the way, if you want to stretch a bit of budget for DDR2 RAM. Another option is get intel Pentium Dual-Core CPU (E2140, E2160, E2180), then getting a MB with G31 or G33 chipset.
I notice from your sig., you are currently using onboard graphic. If you actually have a GPU, there will be lots more choice.

I would recommend going for Intel right now, due to their prices. Also look at Corsair's XMS2 ($47/48 after rebates), and both the P31-DS3L and P35-DS3L

Thanks for the motherboard advice. Hopefully my current motherboard will give me several years more of service. But if not, I know where to look.

Consair MIR end 31/10.
From his sig, he got onboard graphic, thats why I say G31 or G33.
