opinions on New Gaming PC

Brother in law is wanting to build a new pc, ive helped him pick the stuff out and was wondering if the great people here could take a look at the components and give some helpful hints on what they think and maybe some things to change?

thoughts::: CPU, the 2.66GHz version of this is only $10 LESS, so i thought why not get the 3.0
Mem, the Mobo says the standard memory is DDR2 800, does this mean that we CANNOT get faster memory than this?, and if so thats the only reason i got the Gskill @ that speed
ALSO i've heard something about matching the correct FSB of the memory to the CPU for best results. something like if the cpu is @ 1333 then 667 memory will yield the best results? does that sound right to anyone?

im mostly worried about the mobo, im not TOO keen about the the minute details on them. also he (Grievous/brother in law) would like to make sure that the board is upgradeable in a few years, i tried to make sure that @ the very least he will be able to pop a Quad core CPU in when he thinks he might need it and he can always go up to 4 gigs of ram and the board is also SLI ready.

Chupacabra, why would u get that one? does xp really utilize all 4 cores? i know that more cores but less speed is still better, yess, but do u have any REASONS? or just becuase it has 4 and 4 is more than 2?

and thanks for giving us something else to look at. thats the main reason for the post, i dont wanna get stuck on one idea and push other good ones away.

I know a friend had a Quad Core with XP and he said it flew along, he never had a problem.

I also recommend Quad Core because it is the future now and will be a lot better for you.
 
with quad core, what do u think should be our minimum, and the "recommended" #'s?

he will be using this for hours of Daily gaming. most of the top games out right now, and LOTS of map making and such.
