Opinions on this monitor

A lot of the reviews are claiming that you're better off with a 24" or so because of the extra size at the same resolution. Does anyone agree with that statement, fully?

I understand what they're saying because I agree for the most part. But the resolution is pretty crazy when compared to a 50" that uses the same. They mentioned some unclarity in text and the ability to see the edges of pixels. I have no idea what that means but it's a bit disheartening.

The resolution is too low for a 27" monitor. It will look pretty shoddy at normal viewing distance. 50" TV's only have 1920 x 1080 resolution because they are designed to be viewed from a distance

If 27" is what you're after as a pc monitor then you should look at the Dell U2711.

Yeah, at 3 times the cost. Not worth it. You won't notice any issues at that resolution on a 27" monitor IMHO. Certainly not worth a thousand bucks extra unless you have professional requirements or money to burn.

Definitely don't have the money too burn like that. hahahaha That's insane for a monitor!

Most of the reviews are incredible and very generous on giving compliments about the clarity. But it's usually the 4 star ratings that give the most information and share the most knowledge. And they're the ones saying that the monitor is too big for the resolution.

I wish I could see it though... monitor purchasing is always a pain in the ass!

I can assure you that for using as a monitor, you will notice picture quality issues. The resolution is simply not high enough. As soon as you go above 24" and try to keep 1920 x 1080/1200, things start to go rapidly downhill.

A 27" monitor should have a resolution of 2560 x 1440. Stick with a 24" if you can't afford to go for a proper monitor. I speak from experience of owning a 30" TV for use as a computer monitor. It was just horrible. I swiftly got rid of it and went for a 24" HP screen before upgrading to the 30" Dell.

Oh and that price is not insane when you consider that GTX 580's still cost £400. It's the 30" monitors where the price can become......well, "questionable".

Man that is awful news... I was really happy to be looking at 27" monitors!

I already have a 24" and while it looks great, I want a better one! I guess I can always just replace the 20.1" I have now or try and get 3 monitor setup.

Newegg only shows ONE (1) 2560 x 1440 monitor though. Are they really that rare still?
