opteron 165?

Hello everybody. I'm gonna be in the market soon for a dual core :) . I've heard of the overclocking potential of the 165 and have been vehemently considering it (see sig). As far as i know its just a e6 toledo core stringently tested to conform with the stability of the opteron name. My question is.. does anyone have info on this cpu? Is the hype earned?

P.s. stuck on s939, so no C2D for me..:(
 
An opteron model is a server type cpu better for multitasking. The 165 model is one that ocs better then the ohter Opterons but not really geared for a gaming rig. An X2 model like the 4200+ or 4600+ but better is the FX-60 model. Here I'm waiting for the prices to drop on either the Opteron 185 or FX-60 to uppgrade the 939 board here. There's no hype on AMD model cpus.
 
No hype? And i was under the impression the 1xx opty's were opty by name only.. nothing but a x2 4600 toledo core (hence all the cpuz shots i've seen of them saying they're toledos.) tested to make sure they are stable as possible. I've researched opterons alot to make sure it's for me and site after site tells me there's no dif between these opterons and a64's. The funny thing is i've run across this debate So many times.. lol

For the 939 board the FX-60 is the top of the performance line while the Opteron 185 is the top of the 939 server type. The Opteron 165 has a 1.8ghz Denmark core while the 185 is a 2.6ghz model. Don't forget to still look over some other X2 models. While they are not the FX performers those are the multitaskers for the average desktop catagory. I'm still stuck with a single core model. But maybe not for too much longer?!
 
hermeslyre is correct. Denmark and Toledo are essentially the same. The real key to successful overclocks on the Opteron processors is getting the right stepping.
 
The good thing is I hear newegg gets alot alot of ccbbe's which I believe to be an alright stepping, all weeks. Newegg has been outa them and are getting a new batch soon so here's hoping.

The focus now will probably on the quad core models coming soon. They certainly want their 2006 inventory cleared out when going to restock on a number of new items. I want to get out of the single core model here sometime for multitasking capability while the FX60 still looks good for the faster stock speed.
