Optical drive question

I just bought a plextor 716SA/SW for my computer build. I was planning on using XP 64 for an operating system and was wondering if XP 64 will work with this Plextor drive??? In the directions it says it it supports 98/2000/XP. Can anyone help me out here???

1. Well theres one sure way of finding out .....
2. Although ive not personally used the PX716 (but the PX712 and PX740), it should work
