Optical Sound In New Sound Card

Hey guys,
Just picked up my new Creative SoundBlaster X-FI Xtreme Audio 7.1 24Bit PCI-E Sound Card OEM card and everything is working great. The quality is awesome on the computer however, I have my ps3 running into the optical in port and I'm not getting any sound. I have the ps3 set right because I was just running it off my surround sound in my living room just fine. The power is there and the coord is plugged in right. I cant find a setting in creative audio console that even displays the optical options. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
 
So I fixed one problem but now a new one popped up. I got sound to play when I play music on my ps3 however when I first start up the ps3 or load up a game I get a constant crackling sound. Its load and annoying and the sound changes volume when I'm loading a game. I'm not sure whats going on. Anyone?
