Opticlear Technology...

Okay, I understand that opticlear technology used by NEC makes the the screen looks glossy and there might be issue with light reflection...But, it sure make the color looks brighter.

My question is does it last longer in comparison to usual LCD monitor.

Second question is SCEPTRE X20WG-Naga Black 20.1" 5ms Widescreen LCD Monitor w/speakers - Retail has that technology...

if not, what is the monitor under $250 that one could buy (of reasonable size) that has this technology?

there's a best buy "MAG" monitor that has it.

get the NEC, tho, they're nice

and no, they wont last any longer.

they're just smooth screens with an anti-glare coating opposed to typical lcd monitors that use the textured plastic to create an anti-glare effect, and the smooth plastic lets more light through, so it's brighter, that's all.
