Optimize XP

Run Hijackthis and/or msconfig and get rid of any processes you don't need. Under computer management, disable any services you don't need(searching google will typically yield what the service is for.

I'm sure people could give you more "direct" suggestions, but the bottom line is the less your computer has to do at once, the more power that can be devoted to whatever...

im looking for some suggestion to Optimize windows XP SP2, particularly for gaming.

set up a hardware profile in CONTROL PANEL-SYSTEM-HARDWARE TAB-HARDWARE PROFILES.
that way, when you boot up you can select which profile you want,- a normal default(everything running profile) or a specifically setup one with just your graphics card, sound, game controllers etc. which will only load the drivers and hardware/software you want for that session. should free up some RAM.
