Which video card is better for games? The Sapphire X1800 XT 512mb or the eVGA GeForece 7900 GT 256mb? I have done some research. I know the X1800 can use both HDR and AA, and is better at higher resolutions. However, it can't be overclocked very much due to heat issues. The 7900 GT does OpenGL-related things better, can be overclocked more, but doesn't do as well in games like BF2 and Oblivion.

Is the above correct?

If I wanted to OC, I would need to learn how. Will the X1800XT still do well without OCing (in the future as well)? Whats your opinion on what I should get?
 
From what I have understood, the 7900GT is better.

but ATI and Nvidia cards will always have games that one type is better at then the other.
