Order a Dell machine with no OS?

My friend is interested in a Dell machine. I told him to go with Lenovo or Acer, but he wants a Dell. However, he doesn't care for Windows.
Can he order a laptop with no OS and not have to waste an extra $90-200 for something he is going to remove? I made this mistake and bought a PC w/o thinking of ordering it with all OS and software removed.

I think Dell MAY offer the choice of no OS, but I'm unsure. I'll double check and find out.

I imagine he's looking for a laptop?

EDIT: As far as I know, they don't offer a "No OS" system.

No OS choice always best. It cuts the cost. If it is not possible in DELL it is a smart move to go for some other brand.

You can always use Linux (Ubuntu Recommended) and other free open software and cut down the cost .
