OS for amd 64

I have heard that they have came out with a version of windows XP based for the 64 bit users......IS THIS TRUE? Also, I have heard it called XP64 but I don't know if they were just blowing smoke or what. Also, If there is an actual OS for these what does it run $ wise?

Its called Windows Xp pro X64. Soon there will be a windows long horn 64. Most of your 32 bit aplications wont work with it. I use it as a test but gave up. You will have a hard time finding all your hardware drivers in 64 bit. There arnt any 64 bit software out yet to. But its avalibe for download free to try. Set it up on a dule boot. Use normal windows and windows Xp pro X64 together. If you can find your basic mother board and sound and graghic drivers. You can game on it.

LongHorn 64 will be out early 2006 and wont be main stream till mid 2006.

Windows XP pro X64 will be out late 2004 so thay say some software comp will be makeing 64 bit aplications this year.
