OS questions

Is there a OS ouut there that runs w/o the BS of microsoft?? A icon based os for intel systems, thats all im looking for.

Ubuntu should recognize your hardware and download drivers for you.

If it's on a separate partition, then just format that partition. There is a program in Ubuntu called GParted that you can use for that. If its still saying that you have XP installed even though you installed Ubuntu over it. Then you should reformat the whole drive, and reinstall Ubuntu.

ok, thanks guys. Im gunna wait till i get my HP back from repair before i delete XP from this one permanently.

Just wondering, y r u guys so nice and helpful here, when other questions that I post in laptops or internet, they get rude remarks, the 5% of time that i get an answer at all??
