I recently installed RollerCoaster Tycoon 3 on my computer and i changed the setting for the screen resoultion or graphics to high and now my screen will go blank and come back with a message box from the monitor stating "Out Of Range"
I have tried reinstalling the game but it still comes up with the same message and im not sure how to fix this problem??

Here's something I found. see if it works...

If the game won't run because you selected the wrong resolution... navigate to

C:\Documents and Settings\[YOUR USERNAME]\Application Data\Atari\RCT3

And delete "Options.txt".

Presto.

I tried it... didnt work :( but thanks for your help :) someone suggested to me installing in a different directory??

There were like settings: low, medium, high and extreme.... i put it on extreme
haha ok so im dumb :( :o

If that didn't work, there surely must be some other .txt or .ini files within the game folder that store user graphical settings. Have a good scout around.

It will probably leave some files in the directory even after removing the game...

make sure you'll delete those too!

Im having exactly the same problem with this game. Ive uninstalled it, removed all files from pc and cleaned the registry..

Cant seem to get those damn settings back to default!

**********Edit

I got it!

If the game won’t run properly because you selected the wrong screen resolution, navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\[YOUR USERNAME]\Application Data\Atari\<RCT3> and delete the options.txt file. It will then start up again.

I think you probably deleted the wrong file. You must have deleted the one in program files like I tried after reading this...

Good luck
