Outlook 2010 Question

I want to change the length of time that emails remain on my server. I go to account settings, select change, go to more settings, then select the Advanced tab. There should be a delivery option but on my Outlook 2010 this is missing. I set up my email address myself on my new laptop, and can only assume that I missed something during the setup. Can anyone advise how to get this delivery option back. I have contacted my ISP and they were about as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike.

PS I'm using Internet Explorer, and have an IMAP account.

You mean time before it deletes itself off the server? Normally it stays on the server until you decide to delete it from a computer or a mobile device.

With Outlook 2010 you have an option where you can decide how long emails stay on the server before being deleted. I figured out what to do, purely by deleting my email account and re-doing it. If I used the automatic settings to configure my email account, it was set up as an IMAP account, and I think this was the problem. I reinstated my email account but manually set the parameters, and as soon as it was changed to a POP account, the delivery option appeared. Job done.

Just an FYI, it won't sync with your other devices if you run POP. That's what IMAP is for.
