Outlook Express Problem: Export Messages Error

So, I'm backing up everything on my mom's computer because I'm upgrading her to a better machine, and she needs to save all of her Outlook Express contacts and messages. I go File>Export>Addresses and export her contacts to a comma separated text file, no problem. Then I go File>Export>Messages something that says that I'm getting ready to export comes up and click Ok and then I get an error message saying:

The export could not be performed.

An error occurred while initializing MAPI.

I have no idea what this means or where to begin, other than possibly running a windows repair. Any ideas?

common error, or you can simply by pass it ?
you're trying to backup the address book right ?
the address book is in wab format just go to C-->programfiles-->outlook express.
it's called WAB.exe just make a copy of that.

for messages open up OE go to TOOLS-->OPTIONS-->MAINTENANCE tab..then store folder.
copy the full path that shows and go to start-->run , and paste it there,
it will open up a folder with some dbx files just copy all of them.

those errors can simply be overlooked no need to repair windows
