Outlook Folder issue

I'm having an issue with one of my user's laptop.

Basically when he get his emails in his inbox and moves them to a folder they disappear. If we go look on the webmail the emails are still there.

I've scratched my head on this issue for a couple of weeks. I don't know anymore if it's an exchange problem or an outlook issue?

The exchange is 2010 and the outlook as well.

I appreciate the help,

Dave

It sounds like Outlook isn't recieving the emails at all. It may just view them and not save them. You may need to go through some setting on Outlook, which i'm afraid i'm not quite sure which settings so you may have to find out, to make sure outlook saves them.

I thought it did this by default however so it may be an idea to reinstall outlook if you can. If you can't, it may be something to do with the email sever not comuincated with outlook at all. Try testing this by setting up a false email, assign it to outlook and send it an email to see what happens. If something happens then it may be a simple fix of reasigning the contact to outlook.

Thats all I can give you without using outlook myself so i'm just telling you on general knowledge.

I hope i've helped :)

You must create your account in Outlook in order to use it for recieveing and sending E-mails.Do this:

Select Tools | Accounts... from the menu in Outlook Express.
Click Add | Mail....
Type your name under Display name:.
Click Next >.
Enter your E-mail address under E-mail address:.
Click Next >.
Make sure POP3 is selected under My incoming mail server.
Type "pop3.live.com" under Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server:.I recommend using POP3.
Enter "smtp.live.com" under Outgoing mail (SMTP) server:.
Click Next >.
Type your complete E-mail address under Account name:.
Enter your password under Password:.
Click Next >.
Click Finish.
Highlight the newly created E-mail account.
Click Properties.
Go to the Servers tab.
Make sure My server requires authentication is checked under Outgoing Mail Server.
Go to the Advanced tab.
Make sure This server requires a secure connection (SSL) is checked under both Outgoing mail (SMTP): and Incoming mail (POP3):.
Make sure "25" is entered under Outgoing server (SMTP):.
Make sure "995" appears under Incoming server (POP3):.
Click OK.
Click Close.
Now be sure you are connected to the internet and click SEND/RECIEVE ALL button and you should recieve all your mail on your HDD and they will be stored on your HDD locally.
The location of where mails will be stored is the default one by Outlook. To see what the location is,go to TOOLS->OPTIONS and then go to the MAINTENANCE tab and then click the button called STORE FOLDER.There you will see the location where your mails are stored. On that location, the following data is stored by outlook:

-mails from INBOX
-mails from SENT ITEMS
-mails from DELETED ITEMS
-mails from DRAFTS
-and so on...

Cheers!

By the way it's raining like hell in here lmao!
