i need some help with outlook, what should my Incoming Mail, and Outgoing Mail be? could anybody help me with this?

You will need the account's asssigned user name and password in order to create the mail account as well as the information for the incoming and outgoing. Does your ISP's server require authnetication?

ok, well here's a screenshot, still cant send messages, get some gay errors, god i hate Outlook:

you need to change your server settings to (pop)

incoming.verizon.net

and outgoing (smtp )

outgoing.verizon.net

according to that link if you hate outlook you can download thunderbird, its free and open source.

You got that one right! It should read "incoming.verizon.net" in the incoming box and "outgoing.verizon.net" in the ouotgoing box. Under Outgoing mail server at the bottom you put a check in the box there and click on the "select" button to the right to confirm that the outgoing uses the same server as the incoming mail. I ought to known from setting up enough systems to use Verizon dsl. Do you have TwoWire on the home portal?

alright, i got the server stuff worked out, and now i keep getting the Login window thing, i put in my e-mail address and my password, and it still pops up?

there could be certificate issues, special configuration (like it uses non standard ports), etc.

I would contact your ISP or at least browse their help page online to view all the settings. They usually have a how to section on setting up email.

On the user name/password prompt you would enter the Verizon assigned user name and password not your email address. You should have a "vze" number or something close to that for the user name along with the password. That will be different from the "alias" you use for a regular address. You would have been given this when the account was setup.

So would that connect him to the email account that Verizon gave him, or would that just make a new email address/account?

What that does is connect to either the primary which I doubt since that doesn't seem to be the host for the router or to an account added on later to the main account. You type the assigned user name where it says the incoming mail server and full address on the general tab of the account properties. When you go to forward a page after while browsing with IE Outlook will then send the link. For creating a new account without a Verizon assigned user name and password you would simply look for a free account like(or not quite as bad as) Hotmail or another free email provider.
