Output Bluray laptop to TV?

I'm planning on buying a new laptop in about 5 months for when I go to college. My question... if I buy a laptop with a Bluray drive, is there any way to output the video signal to my HDTV? I know VGA probably won't cut it for HD (my TV has a vga input). I do have an extra HDMI and monster cable ports on my TV. Is there any way to get my screen up there in full resolution? If the laptop had a DVI output and I got some sort of DVI to HDMI converter, would that look good (any better than my upconverted DVD's)?

Bottom line, is it worth getting a laptop because it has Bluray capabilities. I don't care to watch movies on the laptop itself, the screen is too small to justify me switching from DVD's to Bluray's.

Thanks!

You should get high def with the converter. So long as you're playing a Blu-Ray disk.

Depends on the cost, I guess. The good thing about a laptop is that it has so many uses.
