Hi I just wanted to know if it would be safe to Over Clock my laptops graphics card.

Clock rate
the core from 317 to about 400 and the memory from 217 to 275

The graphics card is a mobility m10 and I have a gateway m505xl laptop

Thats a rather large jump to be making. Overclocking is meant to be small increments, with testing inbetween to see what the perfect clock is.

Start at 317, then bump to maybe 320, test-if stable bump it up to 325, test-if stable bump to to 330, wash rinse repeat until the testing becomes unstable. Also be sure to keep an eye on your temperatures, laptops get hot!

Here is a guide, or two, or three that should help you out. (Yeah, those are for CPU's but you should get the picture).

Depends on the chip and the cooling arrangement. I have overclocked my 8800GT from 600/1800 to 750/2040 with very little increase in heat, very stable. The problem with a laptop is that you will be limited by heat and power constraints, not really advisable.
