Hi all,

Wanted to ask here first...i'm wondering if I should overclock my e7200 CPU as some people have told me that it would be pointless for me to upgrade my CPU to a Q9505 or Q6700...

My machine:

Windows7 x64
CPU: e7200 @ 2.53GHz
Mobo: Asus P5N-E SLI - http://asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=KyHOsOKWujC2QguJ
Memory: 4GB DDR2 Dual Channels
Power Supply: Rosewill RP500-2 http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story4&reid=32

My Case is a Cosmos Cooler Master if that makes any difference...

Thanks for any advice!

You need a good cooler to keep your temps down. What one are you using? And do you really need to overclock? Are you doing anything like converting things or playing games or something and they are running slow/lagging?

i'm working with a lot of 3D graphics.. and rendering 3D scenes so I want to get it as quick as possible.

I OCd it from 2.53 GHZ to 3.2 GHZ and it seems to be fine. I'm thinking I should not push it til I get something else to cool it. What kind of cooling set up might I get to help me out?

My case has a lot of fans in it but I guess I need something else..?

I wouldnt except more than 3.2GHz on this chip, people that go to 4GHz use extreme cooling etc. Leave it at 3.2GHz, thats 700MHz more performance.
