according to GPUz my gt is running at stock but everest says diffrent

1)What software do i need to overclock it with

2)how can i test its stable?

3)im running my system in sig on a Gigabyte SuperB 460W Psu,ive not had one problem but do you think my psu is enough if i overclock my gfx card aswell?

4)anything else i should know?

Thanks

Shane ;)

1)Use Rivatuner to OC!

2)ATI Tool (scan for Artifacts) for stability!

3)Yeah, it'll be fine!

4)Your ready for more FPS!?

:P

Another good program for overclocking is EVGA Precision. The guy that created RivaTuner helped with it's development and it's easier to use than RivaTuner, IMO.

Thanks guys for replying,

EVGA Precision will not let me adjust my fan speeds, but will allow me to overclock.

so im not going to use that, ive found an overclocking Utility for my card called Asus Smartdoctor which allows me to overclock, adjust fan speeds and watch those temps so il be using that.

what overclock settings do you recommend i start at? overclock 30Mhz at a time or is this too big?

I think you could bump it up to 700/950/1650 straight up.

Give it a try and and test with ATI Tool. Probably put your fan speed up to about 80%, that's what I have mine set to.

Hi dan, well i will put it to half those you said and test for stability and keep on pumping it up,my cards running at 43c idle atm at stock clocks and its quite warm in our house.

Asus still have not released a decent working version of Asus smartdoctor that allows me to control fan speed but its stuck on 100% anyway and its not loud so il leave it at 100%.

people have contacted Asus asking them to sort out a decent version of smart doctor and they said its not on their high priority list

Bad isnt it? looks like Asus doesnt realy care for its customers!

HOWS THIS...

Tested it for about an hour and ati tool did not find errors,my temps didnt go above 65 on load so im happy, thats my load temp you can see after i stopped ati tool for a bit .

i suppose i could go higher,i got to that overclock no troubles.

i think il leave it at that though, because on my GT the ram is not cooled by any ramsinks or anything,it basicly just has the huge fan over the top of it which makes no contact with the memory at all.

as you can see here, them round the top of my cooler.
