Overclock Beginner's Guide?

Does anyone know of any good beginners guides for overclocking? I have never overclocked and am just curious about the process and what settings I should try to use and just gaining knowledge of it for now.

I currently have just installed a AMD A8-3870K Unlocked Llano 3.0GHz and a XFX AMD Radeon 6670 on a Asrock a55m-hvs mobo(Yes, I know it's not great, but I did the best I could with limited funds), with 8 gigs of Patriot RAM and just want some general information and guidelines I could follow to see if it is worth it for me and what kind of results I can get.

you wan't be able to overclock enough to get a really noticeable boost with the stock cooler on your processor.

This, before you even attempt it grab a good cooler. Also that guide helped me alot when I first got into OC'ing. Lots of videos on YouTube also, just search for your MB model and you should find something. Having a visual tool helps.
