ok i got my computer runing and i runs grate but now i want to overclock it and my computer came with a program called core center cool'n'quiet and i can set it on atuo and it will rase my FSB until my computer reboots do you think this will destory my cpu....
If i were you and your comp is new i would wait before OCing.. I would not want to riskmy warranty... OCing can cause problems if you do not know what you are doing and it WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY>>>> Oc at your own risk.... But start reading about OCing first...
The speeds that the new computers run at does not warrant overclocking. These computers are cheaper and faster. Years ago it cost too much to upgrade so overclocking became popular but today it is not worth it.
If you buy a brand new cpu, there is usually no reason to have to overclock it, its when you've had it for a few years and want to get some more out of it before getting a new one.
you just dont jump in on water, heed advise by Praetor and others, might do you good to do some more research, if you want to OC it would be best to do it on your BIOS
