I want to overclock my 3 ghz p4 Prescott core to maybe 3.6-3.8 is that possible? and what motherboard would you suggest for this overclock? also what cooling would you suggest? Will this much of an overclock inhibit the ram from working at full speed?

Whats your current system setup, see my sig, ive overclocked from 2.8 up to 3.5 with no probs and this is witha fairly crappy board, the Abit SG-72 All on normal HSF cooling

I dont know. And neither does anyone else.
(meaning no one can tell you your max OC)

What socket is your Pressy?

What RAM do you have?

i got up to 3.6 stable with my 478 3.0 e

i have a p4p800se and a thermal take silent tower

1gb of corsair value as well

i got it to 3.75 but it wasnt stable

this is with voltage set to auto

so i have to guess that upping the voltage would probably have helped

i back it down to stock now
no need to OC anymroe cause everyhting runs fine at stock speeds

idles at 36 with case at 33

room temp between 70-74

it is a socket 775.

All parts are lower end i build it on a budget a few months ago.
