I just build ( in late november) my first computer. I got an asus maximus formula se mobo and a cedar mill 631 pentium 4, only to hold me over till I can get a new 45nm quad core, but I have been messing around with overclocking and this thing must oc like a chap because I can go from stock at 3ghz to over 4ghz and have no temp increase... i was wondering if this is true for all processors, can they all be pushed this far so easily. will I be able to push one of the 45nm quad's like this?
and how far could I push this processor w/o damaging other things like say my 300$ mobo
other info:
idle temps: 16C at stock, 18C at 4ghz
load temps: 23C at stock, 25 at 4 ghz
(load means playing crysis)
case (which is what i attribute this amazingness to) xclio windtunnel
zalman 9700NT*
1kw psu
8800gt
4gigs gskill 1000mhz ram
vista ultimate x64
