Well I seen this link http://www.xbitlabs.com/web/display/20060622105045.html and I was in aww because 5.4 is really fast for a single core even though the fsb is poor but I was wondering what a safe oc would be for this processer. I was thinking about changing the system bus to about 150-160mhz and im really lost with the whole over clocking thing so i dont really know how fast that will make it go and i really dont get the multiplier but i thought changing it from the factory 133mhz would make it a bit faster

go for it.
just raise the clock speed in small incriments, not a huge jump all at once...and what kind of PSU do you have; whats the wattage?

350 watt but im upgrading to a 400 in a week but I just dont want to shorten the life and kill the cpu. So do you think 4.0 is a good safe speed?

it looks like 4.0 is super easy to achieve on that processor, 5.1 was achieved on just air and "nominal", im assuming only 1.4 or less, vcore. i wondering how that performs compared to c2d in single thread processing...

What motherboard do you have? Because if it's the Dell then you'll have fun with fitting the PSU and that motherboard won't overclock, Dell use their own special BIOS.

EDIT: That result also proves a point, you need a 5GHz NetBurst to even match a 2Ghz single-core 'Core' CPU!

4GHz is still pushing it, and I wouldn't get your hopes up on achieving it (especially if you have a lower-end motheroard).
