Overclocking an E2180?

What sort of fan would I need to support my E2180 if I overclocked it at like 2.7-2.8 ghz?

Could I use the stock fan/heatsink? I've read reviews that say that people oc'd them up to 3 ghz and they have still run smoothly, but I just want to make sure it stays at a reasonable temperature.

Any thoughts?

Stock fan is fine. These are 65nm chips so they can take temp abuse more than their 45nm brother chips. You should upgrade the fan if temps climb higher than 70 Celsius though.

i wouldnt want to see it go anywhere near 70c....thats not good, for $20 you can have peace of mind that the temps will be alot better than relying on the Stock Intel fan.

im not saying the stock intel fans are bad, theyre just not made for decent Overclocking.

These are 65nm chips, not wolfdales. And most people don't know that voltage kills your chip a lot more than temps does. 70 celsius is getting high, but it's not extreme. And most people do not leave their computers on full load, so it'll hardly every reach this temp anyways. Only for stress testing.

but still i wouldnt want to see those temps its just not good,i dont like to see my temps go over 45c :P

Like i said its only $20 for a better cooler he might aswell invest in one ;)
