Overclocking bad

I was just wondering, if you overclock will your processor die faster. If you have proper cooling then you shouldnt have a problem, but does overclocking cut back the life in your CPU by alot?

i dont think there will be any problems as long as you have a decent cooler and its been kept cool.
i see you have the AC7 so you should be okay ;)

by the time your cpu dies on you anyway you will probably have upgraded to something better ;)

Yes, overclocked and overvolting will reduce the life of the processor (more so with overvolting), however IMO you won't have the processor long enough for it to die anyways, so it shouldn't matter. As long as you aren't running the processor on extremely high voltages, it will be fine.

Right Voltage and heat are the ones that will degrade the chip (if its a GPU-chipset-CPU or memory doesnt matter). The MHZ its running at really has no or hardly any degrading affect on it.

well im going to go ahead and overclock it back to 3.6 with the stock volts. since mine runs at 27c idle right now ill just keep an eye on it. if it gets too warm ill go back to stock. which wont be a problem.
