Overclocking Graphics Card...

I just read that you can 'overclock' your video/graphics card. I knew you could do this to your CPU, but I had no idea as to the GPU. Correct me if wrong, but I am to believe that 'overclocking' is the act of making the fan spin faster and making the component working faster, as in a CPU maybe going from 2.7Ghz to 3.0Ghz maybe. So would this make the Ghz on the Graphics card better? Also, how would you overclock it? Thanks.

Overclocking is when you increase the factory default speed of the graphic processor and memory. Dont try overclocking your card unless you understand exactly what your doing.. you can overclock in ati catalyst or nvidias equivalent. there are also 3rd party apps that do it in better detail.

Yes, overclocking a GPU is exactly the same as the CPU, you add more speed to the clock, it does more per second. (e.g. frequency). You can use MSI Afterburner to do this. Don't worry too much, but just research your GPU first and go up in 10MHz increments, test with 3DMark06 and if that is stable for a few runs, then go up again. If you research first, you will no the general range you should expect, saving time. Just ensure you watch the thermals.
