Hey guys,

I could do with some help Overclocking my system again with my new motherboard which is a Asus P5Q SE P45.

I upgraded from a Msi P35 Neo-F.

I had a stable overclock of 3.4 Ghz on my old board, although on this board ive tried alot of diffrent settings and cant seem to get it stable back to 3.4Ghz....it either wont boot at all, system comes on but monitor stays in stand-by OR if it does boot it wont pass Prime 94.

These were my settings on my old board which gave me a stable overclock:

Cpu voltage 1.375V
Memory 2.2v
Northbridge 1.4v
Intel speedstep disabled

Memory timings were 5-5-5-12,cant remember the exact speed it was running at,i think it was 826mhz or so.

Ive tried those voltages on my new board....even gave it a few more volts but still nothing?

The asus board is a bit more complicated to overclock with that my MSI i must admit, alot of settings in there which makes no sense to me :D

In Bios:
Enabled LLC (load line calibration)
FSB Termination Voltage: 1.30
CPU GTL Reference: 0.63x
Vcore (CPU Voltage: 1.35000 or 1.38750 (work it down later)
Timing: 5-5-5-15 (how do you end up with 5GB in your signature? You can try to use just 4GB)
Adjust Dram voltage accordingly with the specifications of your rams as you've stated 2.2v or 2.3v

Thanks il try those tommorow,
As for your question about how i got 5gb of ram? 2x 2gb sticks and 2x 512mb sticks = 5Gb Dual channel :)

You probably don't need that extra gig of ram which only put more stress on your system (the North Bridge), AND may not be compatible with the other 4GB.
If it is not compatible, a slower speed will be resulted as the system decided to use slower speed in all of your rams.

For example: you have 4GB of good rams with good speed....and the other 2 sticks are poor. System will choose POOR as a base speed.

You could still be able to run 4GB as dual chanel as long as they are in appropriate slots. Either in slots 1&3 or 3&4.

Well i had the 2x 512mb sticks of ram lying around and thought might aswell put it to some use so i threw it in.

My 2x 2gb sticks are PC6400 OCZ Gold series 5-5-5-15 @1.9v.

and my other sticks are PC6400 GiEL 5-5-5-15 aswell.

They have worked flawless together in my old mobo, and are working just fine in this new board,i honestly dont think theyre causing my OC problems.

But i will try those settings in the morning,i only had a quick play around with the bios today.

Im liking this new board anyway,I might replace the Northbridge cooler though.
