overclocking PCIe

Hey!

Just a quick,simple question. The PCI e slot is set at x16, can it be overclocked in the bios to higher transfer rate(ie more like x17 etc) ? If it can, would it make a difference?-or does the GPU need to be really overclocked lodz for the need to oveclock the PCIe slot?

No you can't do that, they don't work that way. You can increase the PCIe frequency from the defaults but most cards aren't very tolerant of out of spec frequencies (ATI more so than nVidia though). The PCIe lanes are wired not software configured (non-SLI boards even with SLI its mostly hardware anyway).
