Overclocking problems...

Hey guys, I read the stuff on overclocking, like the stickys, and I tried everything I can..but in my BIOS the clock speed and everything to do with the CPU is all locked, does anyone know of any way or programs I might be able to download to unlock it so I could increase my clock speed. At the moment its at 1.5 Ghz i believe, and its just not cutting it anymore, and I am in no position to buy a new CPU so this info would be mighty helpful.

first of all, what computer do you have? OEM or home built? if it's OEM (like emachine, sony, dell) then you'd probably won't be able to overclock.

If you want to try some 3rd party programs, here's a pretty good one:

You'll have to see if your motherboard is supported.
 
As liuliuboy said, if it's an OEM system, you're probably out of luck. If not, then what motherboard do you have? On many systems you will need to change an option in the BIOS to allow overclocking. On my motherboard, for example, the 'AI Overclock Tuner' must be changed from standard to manual.
 
My motherboard is an intel D850GB...I'll check and see if there are any options I might have missed, but I don't think there are right off hand.
