Overclocking probs

Hi, So i have a i7 920 i can overclock it fine but when i go to 4.0ghz my 12gigs of ram goes to 8gigs of ram so I'm losing 4gigs.. Some might say no big deal I'm about to just put this ram in a stock pc and buy better ram... I sent gskill an email still haven't got back to me any help would be great Thanks...


Motherboard: Biostar x58
Memory: 12gigs gskill 2gigx6 1600
Psu: Corsair 950watts
Video Card: Ati 5870
 
System malfunction? I have no idea.
Could be a cause of your OS if you have 32 bit, but that OS shouldn't steal 4 gigs...

Just thoughts.
 
You're probably putting a lot of stress on the memory controller. run some slower clocks on your RAM (as close to stock as possible) and increase the RAM and memory controller voltage.

that should help.

Generally speaking, overclocking with lots of ram can cause things like this.
