Im new to overclocking and I need help with the physical part of OC'ing. I currently run an older gigabyte board with the 790gx chip and an athlon II x4 630 propus @2.8ghz. Im ordering new parts and want to explore overclocking with this set up before I do it with more advanced parts. I Messed around in the BIOS and managed (I guess) to get a 2.940 OC which was stable(i guess) using Prime95. all i did was change the FSB from 200 to 210 and changed nothing else with voltages on auto. should my memory be changing with every change or should that be on auto?

Yes it's normal for the memory to OC with the FSB, some MoBo's have a lockout that keeps the RAM from OC'ing so if you have that enable it unless you want to OC the RAM. There are a few methods to OC'ing, the OC 101 guide at the top of this forum is very helpful(helped me a lot when doing mine for the first time).

thanx man. Im getting that same processor, the 965, as temporary. is it a good power full processor to be able to play Battlefield 3? and is it easy to verclock?

It'll be able to run Battlefield 3. Just make sure you got a good video card. The 965 overclocks very well.
