Overclocking this pc (reasonable?)

First I need to give you some background info. This is the family pc, we use this for quicken, and all the money management, paying bills and other important things so if it was to fail it would be very bad. I will be buying a new pc soon and plan on overclocking it a bit. I would rather get practice on this pc than my own, infact I may even return this pc to its original condition upon the arrival of my new one.

This pc has the stock cooling 120mm fan in the back, cpu fan, gpu fan. the pc's stats are in my sig but if you need to know more then I will do my best to inform you. I will only want to overclock a little bit on this one because I just want to be sure I can do it. I have read the oc101 and am still not too confident but anyway, do you think it would be likely to get any kind of an overclock out of this without it catastrophicaly failing?

(side note: if my mom were to catch me overclocking or messing in the BIOS I dont think I would be on this computer again, so I need to be able to do this overclock in about 1-2hours time. Keep in mind this is my first overclock.)

dont bother. overclocking involves alot more than you think. you need a new heatsink, higher airflow fan, and SILVER 5 thermal gel. im your age, and im built my own comp. by the way, going with one stick of corsair XMS will be a bad choice. get two sticks that are 512mb a piece rather than 1gb stick.
instant message me on AIM: fade2green514 or email me [email protected]
ill teach you what you need to know to overclock.

ok, I'll wait until I get my new pc to try it. Oh and I plan on getting another gig shortly after the build (maybe a month later) is why I got a 1gb stick.

I will add you on my aim. mine is lowcar100

thanks for the info and the future help! :)
