Overclocking??

I was reading my manual for P4P800SE, and this is what I read:

AI Overclocking
The unique AI Overclocking Tuner in BIOS enables quick overclocking up to 30% (depends on CPU and RAM). It automatically detects and optimizes every relevant parameter to provide both performance and stability.

The BIOS in AI Series also keeps all the special design for overclocking:
-- Flexible CPU Core Voltage Adjustments in 0.025V increments over defaults
-- SFS (Stepless Frequency Selection) up to 400MHz at 1MHz increanerts
-- Adjustable FSB/DDR ratio. Fixed AGP/PCI frequencies
-- ASUS C.P.R.(CPU Parameter Recall)

I need help on this this subject(OC) or someone to explain it to me in layman's term. :D :)

what do you want to know? all that is saying is "If you have no idea how to overclock your hardware manually, use our built in "overclocker" to do the job for you." But really doing it manually is alot better cuz u can change your fsb and all that...instead of having a program just up your multi a butt load (fsb will give you more performance than a multi). if you want to know how to overclock...google. lol.

So this means my MOBO has a feature that I can OC, so changing one setting and the whole setting will adjust by itself, is that what it means?

It automatically detects and optimizes every relevant parameter to provide both performance and stability.:)

thats what they want yu to think. all it probably does is change your multi, add voltage, and maybe loosen your ram timings. something you can do (and better if you do) by yourself with a few clicks of buttons. if you want to use it thats kewl..i jsut think you could do a better job of it yourself. you also have to remember your computer will get hotter, and it still has just as much chance freezing/rebooting as a normal overclock. it doesnt change any of those kinds of problems lol.

Thanks, maybe I should do some more research on the subject of OC, I dont want to jump onto something that I have little knowledge of, but it sure does help getting information from you.:)

Yeah but if you use the "built in" feature you dont have to worry about downclocking it automatically if temps get out of spec.
