overclocking ?

When overclocking, do you up the voltage when the system wont boot or power on? How do you know when you need to up the voltage?

If you physically can't power on the system then you've got a problem seperate from overclocking. :D

But yeah, up the voltage when it fails to post or can't boot into windows. You may also need a raise if the system is unstable; crashing, BSOD, whatever.

You dont clear the BIOS, unless your board is one of the ones that requires manually resetting the jumper if it doesnt boot.

There are two major factors that can attribute to an overclock becoming unstable, which can be dealt with in the BIOS.

First off, once you overclock and it's no longer stable, dont start cranking up the voltage. Theres a high possibility that your RAM is overclocked too high, so either set a higher divider or lower the memory speed, or you can increase the RAM voltage/raise timings, your choice.

After you've done that, then you should start increasing the voltage... slowly.

It would probably say something on the box that refers to it. But you could always test it out, and when your motherboard gives off a long beep, let it run for a minute and see if it automatically restarts itself and resets.

It's a fairly new board, so I believe it does have that feature. Maybe send Rambo a PM since he has that board as well.

Well it would have a long beep sometimes then restart but i dont think that it reset the settings...
