Overheating Problems?

My desktop computer has been acting funky for a little while now... however, I haven't had a chance to see what's wrong because I've off to college and the computer has been here.

However, the fans started spinning up when I would play a graphic-somewhat intensive game. I didn't think much of it at first, but then got to thinking it may be dust in the computer.

So I'm home for the Turkey break, and I cracked open the case and unscrewed the heatsink off the integrated GPU. The thermal paste or pad seemed worn out to me, like the sticky stuff a sticker leaves behind after you take it off.

I blew all the dust out from between the heatsink and fan, hoping it would solve my problem, but it still happens.

I've installed Speed Fan and noticed these stats:

IDLE

Fan 1 is running around 1630 RPM, and fan 2 is around 1249 RPM.

CPU usage is ~2-5%.

That is all idling.

Running a game:

CPU: -128C
Ambient: 33C
Remote: 72C
HD0: 34C
Temp1: 40C

Fan 1 is 2700 RPM, Fan 2 is 2000 RPM. Fan 1 peaks at over 4000 RPM, and Fan 2 peaks around 2500 RPM.

CPU usage peaks around 50-60%

Sorry for the poor quality. I don't own a digital camera and that's just the crappy one lying around the house.. The first one is of the GPU in the case, where you can see the paste on it (kind of?)

The second two are the bottom of the heat sink.

The paste looked fine, it didnt seem to be cooked in or anything, provided you cleaned it with rubbing alcohol (Preferably 99%) or special thermal grease cleaner and reapplied new grease..

As for the problem, run Prime95 and/or SuperPi, what kind of CPU is it? P4 Prescott by any chance?
